Alex Lock (Emmetsburg, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College next year.Lock

Lock is a 5’4” catcher who has lettered five years for the Emmetsburg High School softball team. She earned first team all-state honors last year as a junior after hitting .441 with 16 doubles and eight home runs. Lock played a key role in her team’s runner-up finish at the 2A state tournament. She earned third team all-state honors as a sophomore and received all-conference honors four straight years. Lock plans to major in nursing at Northwestern and is the daughter of Robin and Ed.

“Alex will be a great addition to our roster and will add great depth to the Red Raider lineup,” commented head coach Stephanie Kuhl. “She brings a lot of experience behind the plate but also has the ability to play other positions if needed. Alex is very consistent at the plate which makes her a tremendous offensive threat. She comes from a great program and knows how to win, which is exactly what we are looking for to rebuild Red Raider softball.”
