Lexy Determan Earns National Honor

Lexy Determan earned NAIA Pitcher-of-the-Week honors for her play last week. The freshman from Terril, Iowa, went 4-0 with one save in five appearances with an impressive 0.58 ERA. In 24 innings pitched, Determan gave up 10 hits, two runs and struck out 28. She also registered two shutouts which included a one-hitter against Briar Cliff. In the Red Raiders 1-0 win over Briar Cliff, Determan pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to pick up the save and became the school's single season strikeout leader with a strikeout in the seventh inning. Determan is 18-8 on the season and is a member of a Red Raider team that completed regular season play with a 15-9 league record, 25-17 overall. Northwestern is the fourth seed heading into this weekend's GPAC postseason softball tournament. They open against #5 Briar Cliff.
