Northwestern Softball Team Signs All-State Pitcher

Brittany Van Brocklin (Fairbank, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College.VanBrocklin

The daughter of Dean and Brenda, Van Brocklin is a 5’6” pitcher who lettered four years for the Wapsie Valley High School softball team. The righthander went 20-10 with a 2.33 ERA as a junior, striking out an impressive 170 batters in 195 innings pitched. Van Brocklin also hit .324 with five extra base hits and 38 stolen bases. She is a two-time honorable mention all-state selection and earned first team all-conference honors as a sophomore and junior and honorable mention all-league honors as a freshman.

“We are pleased that Brittany has decided to join the Red Raiders next season,” commented assistant coach Dave Hulsart. “After a very good year on the mound as a junior, Brittany is off to a great start this summer. She will add depth to our pitching staff and will be a solid addition to the Northwestern campus community.”
