Two Red Raiders Earn All-Region Softball Honors

Two Northwestern College softball players earned NAIA All-Region honors for their play last season. Lizz Swanson and Lexy Determan earned the postseason honors after leading their team to a fourth place finish in the GPAC and a berth in the Regional Tournament. The Red Raiders finished the season with a 28-21 overall record.

SwansonSwanson, a senior outfielder from Johnston, Iowa, led the team with a .369 batting average and 28 runs scored. She led the GPAC with 11 home runs and ranked second in the league with 49 RBIs. Swanson also recorded 10 stolen bases and boasted an on-base percentage of .434. A freshman from Terril, Iowa, Determan led the NWC pitching staff with a 21-11 record and a 1.98 ERA. She led the GPAC with 261 strikeouts in just 201.2 innings pitched and only 57 walks. Determan pitched a GPAC-leading nine shutouts this season and opponents hit just .203 against the freshman righthander.Determan
