John Andersen (University Park, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Northwestern College next fall.

Andersen is a 6'3" defender who has lettered four times in soccer at Oskaloosa High School. Last season, Oskaloosa finished 6-5 under the direction of head coach Mark Doll. Andersen scored two goals in high school and recorded four assists from the back row. Andersen also lettered three times in cross country and was the runner of the year as a senior at Oskaloosa H.S. Andersen was awared an IAHSAA Academic Achievement Award in cross country in 2006. He is planning on majoring in Exercise Science while at Northwestern and also will be participating in track.

"John will be a great addition to our team," said head coach Dan Swier. "He is a versatile player and has a special passion for the game of soccer. We look forward to his arrival in the fall."
