Benjamin Hoogeveen (Sully, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Northwestern beginning in the fall of 2008. Hoogeveen, the son of Michael Hoogeveen and Teresa Schippers, is a 5'9" midfielder for Pella Christian High School. Hoogeveen has scored nine goals and has 15 assists on the season. He was named all-conference for four years; honorable mention his freshman campaign, second team his sophomore and junior seasons, and first team in the spring of 2008. Hoogeveen is a three time captain and has earned four letters. "Ben is a quality young man with a good soccer mind," said head coach Dan Swier. "He is a big reason for Pella Christian's success and as a three time captain, his leadership ability is evident. It will be fun to watch him as he develops and learns the college game." Hoogeveen will major in secondary education at Northwestern.
