Royce Van Roekel

Assistant Coach

Van Roekel begins his first year on the Raider men’s soccer coaching staff. He will serve as the goalkeepers coach. Van Roekel was a goalkeeper at Northwestern from 2001-04 and is fifth all-time in career saves.

“I hope to instill the habits of working hard to better yourself as well as your team. I want to enable the athletes to think for themselves and strive for the goals they set, not the goals we as coaches set for them,” Van Roekel said.

A ’05 Northwestern grad. with a BA in business finance and an accounting minor, Van Roekel has returned to school to acquire a secondary education certificate and coaching certificate. He and his wife Sheena, head women's soccer coach, reside in Orange City.
