Northwestern Soccer Signs Colorado 3A Player of the Year

Jonathan Taves (Colorado Springs, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Northwestern College next year.Taves

The son of Rick and Julia, Taves is a forward at Colorado Springs Christian High School. Colorado Springs Christian finished last season with a 17-1 record and was in the quarter finals at the state tournament. Taves scored 25 goals and had 17 assists last season under head coach Tim Egeler. Taves was named the Colorado 3A Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State, named to the National All-Region Team, a member of the All-Conference team and was third in the state in goals and assists. Taves was also a debate competition finalist while in high school. Taves will come to Northwestern as an undecided major.

"Jonathan is coming off of a very successful year of soccer," said head coach Dan Swier. "He will bring a competitive/winning attitude to our program. Jonathan is a wonderful young man and we look forward to his contributions to the team and the college this fall."
