Northwestern picked up a big conference win in double overtime over Morningside 2-1 Tuesday night. The Raiders out-shot Morningside 22-16 but Morningside had seven shots on goal to Northwestern's six. Brad White led Northwestern with one goal and one assist, Blake Wieking had a goal, and Aaron O'Brien had an assist. Dustin Davis scored Morningside's only goal. Goalkeeper Ben Schneider made six saves and allowed one goal.
Northwestern got on the scoreboard first, White scoring when O'Brien found him with an open shot. Morningside got the equalizer 50 minutes later when Davis' shot was deflected past Schneider. Both teams couldn't manage a goal in the remaining 18 minutes of regulation or the first overtime. Northwestern got a golden goal from Wieking 0:30 into the second OT after White set him up nicely. Northwestern moved to 9-5-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the conference.
