Northwestern beats Mount Marty 6-2

Northwestern downed Mt. Marty in men's soccer on Tuesday afternoon, 6-2.  Northwestern scored one goal in the first half and five goals in the second half en route to tying their highest goal total of the season.  Blake Wieking got Northwestern on the board when he scored unassisted 13:45 into the match.  The Raiders had 14 shots in the first period but were only able to score one goal.  Northwestern kept the pressure on Mt. Marty the second period firing 12 more shots at the goal, five found the net, including two goals by Brad White, and one by Andy Janssen, Aaron O'Brien, and Dereck Ball.  Goalkeeper Ben Schneider made one save in the match.  Northwestern had ten corner kicks to the Lancers two.

Brad White scored two goals on three shots on goal, Blake Wieking scored a goal on two shots on goal, Andy Janssen netted his only shot on goal, Aaron O'Brien had four shots on goal and one goal, and Dereck Ball scored on his only shot on goal, Aron Pall, Ben Karnish, Jordan Born, and Greg Hubbard also added shots on goal.  Andy Janssen had the only assist for Northwestern.  The Raiders improved to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the GPAC.  Northwestern plays host to Concordia on Saturday at the soccer complex, start time will be 3:30 p.m.
