NAIA Men's Golf National Championships

For the second straight day, Luke Vermeer shot a five-over 77 in the third round at the 2008 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships. The sophomore from Sioux Center is +16 after three rounds and is tied for 86th place with five other golfers. The field is cut to the top 17 teams and 40 individuals (including ties) after 54 holes.  The 2008 NAIA Championship is being played at the Indiana National Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind.

Starting on hole 10, Vermeer began his third round with seven straight pars but finished with a pair of bogeys on holes 17 and 18 to card a two-over 38. He then birdied hole one to go to +1 on the day an followed with back-to-back pars. Two straight bogeys on four and five were followed by a par on the 403-yard, par four sixth. Vermeer then scored a nine on the seventh hole but recovered well to finish the round with back-to-back birdies to close at +5 for the day.
