Luke Vermeer carded a six-over 78 and is tied for 77th place after round one at the 2008 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship. The event is being played at the Indiana National Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind.

Staring on hole 10, Vermeer carded a two-over 38 on the back nine and followed with a four-over 40 on the front nine. The sophomore from Sioux Center, Iowa, finished round one with two birdies, five bogey's and one double bogey. Vermeer will tee of tomorrow at 1:18 pm for his second round.
