The Event... The Northwestern College men's golf team travels to Lincoln, Neb. to compete in the two-day Nebraska Wesleyan Invite. The first day will be played at the Lincoln Country Club and Friday's second round will take place at Wilderness Ridge. 12 teams are schedule to compete, including the host Prairie Wolves, ranked 10th in the most recent NCAA D-III golf poll.

Last Time Out... Northwestern placed ninth out of 16 teams at the  Central Dutch Classic last weekend in Oskaloosa, Iowa. NWC shot a two-day total of 628 and moved up one spot after day one by shooting a 309 in the final round. The hosts, Central College, ran away with the team title by shooting an even-par 560. Iowa Wesleyan and Dordt tied for second with a 590 and Kirkwood CC finished fourth with a 606.

Individually, the Red Raiders were led by sophomore Luke Vermeer with a five-over 145 (72-73) and tied for seventh place overall. Nathan Summers carded a two-day total of 152 and finished tied for 22nd place. Kyle McGranahan shot a 161, including a 77 on the second day.

Red Raider Notes... Vermeer has placed in the top 10 in all eight meets this year, including five top five finishes. The sophomore placed second at both the Briar Cliff Invite and the Buena Vista Fall Invitational last fall. Vermeer also placed second at the two-day Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Invitational with a four-over 146. Justin Pannkuk shot a 163 and placed 33rd at the NWU Fall Invite. Northwestern finished 10th as a team with a 651.

Next up... The Red Raiders will next compete at the GPAC Preview Meet held in Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday, April 10.
