Central Dutch Classic

The Northwestern College men's golf team finished day one in 10th place at the two-day Central Dutch Classic held at the Edmundsen Golf Course in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The Red Raiders, making their spring season debut, shot a 319, just eight shots in back of seventh place Coe College. The host school, Central College, leads the Classic with a team-score of 277. Iowa Wesleyan is in second with a 291, followed by Central B (298) and Dordt (300) and Kirkwood CC (300).

Individually, the Red Raiders are led by sophomore Luke Vermeer who is in a tie for eighth place with a two-over 72. Vermeer shot a 36 on both the front and back nines. Nathan Summers carded a seven-over 77 and is tied for 26th place. Central's Andy Peterson and Iowa Wesleyan's Jordan Crampton share the lead with a two-under 68.

The second round will begin at 10:00am (weather permitting) on Saturday morning.
