Luke Vermeer, a sophomore from Sioux Center, Iowa, carded a one-over 73 and finished in a tie for second place overall at the Buena Vista Invitational. Vermeer was the top golfer for the Red Raiders, who were making their season debut at the Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake. Last year, Vermeer finished as runner-up medalist at the BV Meet last season as well. As a team, Northwestern finished in sixth place with a team score of 320, just two shots in back of USF and Briar Cliff who tied for fourth place overall. Junior Justin Pannkuk (Webster City, Iowa) finished tied for 10th place with a five-over 77. Kyle McGranahan, a junior from DeWitt, Iowa, shot an 81 and tied for 27th place overall. Dakota Wesleyan won the Invite with a 298, led by Chris Pritchard with an even-par 72. Pritchard earned individual medalist honors. NWC will next play in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 13, in Lincoln, Neb. Complete Results
