Michael Shields (Kearney, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Northwestern College next fall.

Shields earned two letters while playing for Kearney High School. The son of Mike and Tracy, Shields recorded tournament best scores of 37 on nine holes and 80 on 18. A member of the National Honor Society and Academic All-State team, Shields plans to major in business at Northwestern.

“Michael is a great athlete who has just begun to tap into his potential,” commented Head Coach Mark Bloemendaal. “He is an outstanding student and leader. We are excited that Michael will be a member of our golf team.”
