Red Raiders Face Hastings on Homecoming

The Northwestern men's soccer team (10-5-1, 4-4) hosts #12 Hastings (11-2-2, 6-0-1) on Saturday in an important GPAC match for the Red Raiders. NWC is currently in a tie for sixth place. The Red Raiders have lost their last two matches. Hastings enters ranked #12 in the NAIA and they have won their last five matches and haven't lost in their last seven matches.

Scouting Hastings:

Jake Ramsay (ten goals, five assists, 25 points) leads a Hastings attack that has out-scored opponents 45-11 this season. The Broncos have created 319 shots (145 on goal) and have faced 140 total shots (50 on goal). Lucas Venegas has a team best seven assists and trails only Ramsay in points this season. Venegas has scored four times and has 15 points. Austin Damien and Marc Tautz both have scored 11 points this year. Tautz has four goals and three assists while Austen has five goals and one assist.

Goalkeeper Alex Guyer has made 30 saves and has allowed seven goals. He has made nine shut-outs this season and currently has a goals against average of 0.520.

Scouting Northwestern:

The Red Raiders have out-scored opponents 43-25 this year. They are second in the GPAC in goals scored, behind only Hastings. Ryan Johnson has 11 goals and 22 points to lead the attack. Koray Karakas has 16 points on six goals and four assists while Gabriel Goncalves and Kade Heikens have 12 points each. Goncalves has five goals and two assists while Heikens has three goals and six assists. Northwestern has out-shot their opponents 274-169 this season and 141-74 in shots on goal.

Aaron Bosch has played every minute in goal for NWC this season, he has allowed 25 goals and has made 49 saves. Bosch currently has a goals against average of 1.54 and five shut-outs this season.

Northwestern wraps up the regular season on Oct. 29th when they travel to Morningside. The top eight teams in the GPAC standings will host opening round matches in the GPAC Tournament.
