Northwestern and Concordia take the pitch on Saturday night in a GPAC match in Seward, Neb. The Red Raiders have won five of their last six matches while Concordia is win-less in their last three matches after going on a four game winning streak.
The Bulldogs are currently tied for fourth in the GPAC in goals scored with 23. They have allowed 15 goals this season. No Bulldog has scored more than four goals in a balanced attack. Gideon Soenksen has scored four goals and has made four assists to lead the team. Chris DeFeyter and Dean Stevens have also scored four goals this season. Julian Amaya has scored three goals. Concordia has out-shot their opponents 180-159 and 83-74 in shots on goal.
Brendan Buchanan has made 13 starts and has made 57 saves, fifth best in the GPAC. He is second in the GPAC with a 1.110 goals against average and he has made three shut-outs in 2014.
NWC is on a three game winning streak in which they have out-scored opponents 13-1. For the season, NWC has doubled up their opponents, scoring 42 goals and allowing 21. The Red Raider attack is second in the GPAC in goals scored and the defense is fifth in goals allowed. Ryan Johnson leads the GPAC in goals scored, with 11, and is tied for second with 22 points on the year. Koray Karakas is fifth in the GPAC with 16 points on six goals and four assists. Kade Heikens has made six assists and is third in the GPAC. Tukker Bogaard has made four assists and is tied with Karakas for second on the team. Gabriel Goncalves has made five goals and has two assists and is tied for third on the team with Heikens with 12 points.
Aaron Bosch has played every minute in goal for NWC and has made 46 saves and allowed 21 goals. He is fifth in the GPAC with a 1.480 goals allowed average. Bosch and the Raider defense has made five shut-outs this season including two in the last three matches.
