Northwestern (6-2-1, 0-1) is looking to earn their first GPAC win as they face Doane (0-6, 0-1) on Saturday in Crete, Neb. Northwestern knocked off Presentation in their last match and the Raiders have won three of their last four. Prior to the season, both the Red Raiders and the Tigers were picked to finish third in the GPAC standings by the coaches.
Doane enters with three goals scored in six matches. They have allowed 17 goals but have out-shot their opponents 79-64 and hold a 34-27 advantage in shots on goal. Isaac Beber has scored two of Doane's goals while Gabe Garbin has scored the third goal. Aaron Carman has the only Tiger assist.
Casey Clark has started all six games in goal. He has allowed 17 goals and has made 21 saves.
The Red Raiders have scored 25 times this season and have allowed 16 goals. Northwestern has taken 163 shots (82 on goal) and have allowed 96 shots (45 on goal). Ryan Johnson has a GPAC best seven goals this season. Koray Karakas, Landon Sibole, Gabriel Goncalves, and Kade Heikens have all scored three goals this year. Heikens and Tukker Bogaard lead the Raiders with three assists each. Connor Sams, Nate Huyser, Pedro Fonseca, Karakas, Sibole, Goncalves, and Wesley Lockwood each have made two assists.
Aaron Bosch has made 29 saves in nine starts and is fourth in the GPAC in saves. He has allowed 16 goals and has a goals against average of 1.710.
Following the Doane match, Northwestern will face Briar Cliff on Wednesday Oct. 1st.
