Men's Soccer Hosts Mt. Mercy

Northwestern (3-0-1) hosts Mt. Mercy (4-1) tonight in a non-conference match at the NWC Soccer Complex. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:15 pm. Northwestern has won their last two matches and has not been defeated this season.

Scouting Mount Mercy

The Mustangs have scored 15 goals in five matches and have out-shot their opponents 83-64 including a 32-31 margin in shots on goal. MMU is led in points by Kevon Farguharson (four goals, two assists). Marco Fichtner (three goals, one assist) is second on the team to Farquharson in goals and points. Mohamed Hamed and Farquharson each have a team best two assists. Mt. Mercy has collected 11 assists on their 15 goals. 

In goal, Tomas Zajfert and Goar Kempf-Heitlinger have both seen time. Kempf-Heitlinger has made 11 saves and has allowed two goals while Zajert has made 13 saves and allowed five goals. Each keeper has recorded one shut-out on the season.

Scouting Northwestern

The Red Raiders have scored 15 goals in four matches and they have allowed seven goals. NWC has out-shot their opponents 60-45 overall and 30-21 in shots on goal. Ryan Johnson and Koray Karakas each have a team high three goals scored. Landon Sibole, the reigning GPAC Player of the Week, and Kade Heikens have both scored twice. Karakas has made two assists to lead the squad.

Aaron Bosch has played every minute in goal for Northwestern and has made 14 saves and allowed seven goals, five in one game. He has posted two shut-outs in 2014 and currently has a goals against average of 1.620.

Northwestern will host William Penn on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00pm.
