Raiders Take on Prairie Wolves

The Northwestern men's soccer program (5-5-1, 1-1-1) travels to Lincoln, Nebr. to take on Nebraska Wesleyan (3-5-1, 1-2) on Saturday. Both teams are coming off of a loss to Doane in their last match, Northwestern fell 1-0 while NWU was knocked off 3-0.

The Red Raiders have scored 24 goals in 11 games, 16 between Koray Karakas (6), Gabriel Goncalves (4), and Ryan Johnson (4). Goncalves leads the team with five assists while Harri Edwards is second with four. Gancalves and Karakas each have 13 points the season for the Red Raiders. Travis Sytsma and Nate Huyser have each scored twice and are tied for fourth on the squad.

Northwestern has made 219 shots, 89 shots on goal, and have forced 60 corner kicks. The Raider defense has allowed 129 shots, 62 shots on goal, and has given up 36 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Aaron Bosch has made 42 saves and allowed 20 goals. He has a goals against average of 1.75 this season to go with two shutouts.

Nebraska Wesleyan has four players on their team that have scored one goal; Wesley Smith, Kyle Jisa, Michael Wagner, and Alex Thorson. They have made 107 shots, 42 on goal, and have made 40 corner kicks. The Prairie Wolves have allowed 124 shots, 58 shots on goal, and have given up 31 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Turner Mead has made 36 saves and has allowed 11 goals. He currently has a 1.34 goals against average.

Following the match with NWU the Red Raiders will take on Mt. Marty next Wednesday in a GPAC match in Yankton, S.D.
