Red Raiders Earn Best Ever Finish At NAIA Championship

Northwestern College finished tied for 13th place at the 72-hole NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship that concluded today at the TPC Deere Run Golf Club in Silvis, Ill.

The Red Raiders closed today with a 331 in the final round to secure its best ever finish at the men’s golf championship. They shot a 72-hole score of 1,246 (312/302/301/331) and tied Madonna (Mich.) for 13th place, 10 strokes in back of 12th place British Columbia.

Grand View (Iowa) won the championship with a 72-hole total of 1,197, five strokes better than Cardinal Stritch (Wis.)

Colton Kooima was the top Northwestern finisher, tying for 30th place with a 306. The junior shot an 80 in today’s final round. Ryan Christy tied for 43rd overall with a 311 and Austin Reitz finished alone in 63rd place with a 316. Justin Kraft (T66th-319) and Evan Schuler (T71st-320) round out the Red Raider scores.

Rowan Lester (Texas Wesleyan) won the individual title with a four-round total of 287 (+4).
