All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series 36-12 and is 6-4 over the last 10 match-ups against Doane. The Tigers, however, swept both games last year, for the first time in the program's history.

Scouting Doane...The Tigers had their four game win streak snapped last time out, losing at home to Dakota Wesleyan 90-65 on Dec. 13. Prior to that loss, Doane had wins over Tabor (Kan.), McPherson (Kan.), Concordia and Mount Marty. They are tied with Hastings for seventh place in the conference standings with a 3-4 record, 8-7 overall.

Jim Weeks returns for his third season as the Tigers' head coach, coming to Doane after a 24-year stint as a successful high school coach at Beatrice. In first season at Doane in 2012-13, coach Weeks guided Doane to a school record 21 wins. Last year, Doane finished ninth in the GPAC with a 6-14 record, 13-16 overall, missing out on postseason play by just one game. Three starters and seven players return off last year's squad.

Doane is 10th in the league in scoring (70ppg) and field goal percentage (40%) while ranking ninth in the NAIA with 121 three-pointers on the year. Defensively, the Tigers are giving up 73 points per game and own a +1 advantage on the boards.

Junior Deonte Holt leads the Tigers in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game coming off the bench. Holt, a starter last year, also leads the team with 33 three-pointers and is second on the team with 33 assists. Sophomore Nate Kuhl, another returning starter, averages just over 11 points per game, shooting nearly 50% from the field, and is second on the team with 6.1 rebounds. Michael Herrmann scores 9.7 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at seven boards per game.

Northwestern News and Notes...The Red Raiders have lost two straight conference games to fall back into ninth place in the GPAC with a 2-4 league record, 7-5 overall. After wins over Mount Marty and Nebraska Wesleyan, Northwestern lost to a pair of ranked teams, Briar Cliff and Midland, last week.

Northwestern is one of the highest scoring teams in the NAIA, pouring in 93 points per game. The Red Raiders are second in the GPAC in field goal percentage (51%) and fifth in three-point percentage (39%). Defensively, they are giving up 83 points per game and are the top rebounding team in the GPAC (+13).

Colton Kooima leads a balanced scoring cast, averaging 16.3 points per game, ninth most in the GPAC. The freshman is fifth in the GPAC with 38 three-pointers, shooting 46% from beyond the arc. Three additional NWC players are scoring in double figures, led by Jordan Baker at 14.4 points per game. The sophomore is the top rebounder in the conference (8.9) and is shooting 53% from the field. Nathan Wedel and Taylor Francis are the other two top scorers, pouring in 12.7 and 10.9 points per game.
