Northwestern rallied from a seven-point deficit to knock off Mount Marty 76-71 in GPAC men's basketball action Tuesday night in the Bultman Center. The Raiders even their record to 1-1 in the GPAC, 5-3 overall while the Lancers remain winless on the season at 0-5.

Trailing by seven (66-59), Northwestern went on a 9-0 run, capped by a Mike Vorwald three-pointer, to take a 68-66 lead with two minutes to go. Mount Marty tied the game at 68 on two free throws by Stephen Klekas but the Raiders went ahead for good on their next possession after a lay-up by Ben Miller. Ryan Hoogeveen converted a lay-up and both Brent Dunkelberger and Miller converted their free throws in the final minute to preserve the win. Northwestern held the Lancers without a field goal over the final six minutes to spark the comeback.

The Raiders shot 44% for the game and were led by Brent Dunkelberger with a season-high 23 points, two shy of his career-high. The senior made 8-of-12 field goal attempts and also pulled down five rebounds. Ryan Hoogeveen chipped in 14 points and shared team-high  honors with six boards. Miller added 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Mount Marty shot 40% from the field and were led by Klekas with 23 points.

Northwestern heads to play in the Dickinson State Classic where they will play Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western this weekend.
