The Red Raiders cruise to a 96-70 win over 13th seed Northwood (Fla.) in the Elite Eight this afternoon and advance to the Final Four for the sixth time, the most trips by any team in the NAIA. Northwestern will play top seed Bellevue on Monday, March 17 at 6:00 pm. Trailing 7-2, NWC outscored Northwood 12-0 over a span of four minutes and never trailed after that. Curt Schilling sparked another Red Raider run with a trio of three pointers later in the first half en route to a 38-21 halftime lead. It was all Northwestern in the second half as they shot an incredible 72% (18/25) and led by as much as 33 points. Schilling led all scorers with 20 points and recorded his first tournament double-double with 12 rebounds. For the third straight game, Chad Schuiteman registered a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. He moved into second place for career rebounds at the national tournament with 125. Mark DeYounge came off the bench to score 14 points and three other Red Raiders were in double figures (Ryan Hoogeveen and Kale Wiertzema-11 and Andrew Stimson-10). Northwestern out-rebounded the Seahawks 42-26. They also held Seven Ezumba, a 6-5 junior who was among the tournament leaders in both scoring and rebounding, to 0 points and three rebounds.
