Second-seed Northwestern rolled to a 91-63 victory over seventh-seeded USF in the quarterfinals of the GPAC Postseason Tournament. The Red Raiders, ranked seventh in the final NAIA poll, improve to 25-4 overall and will advance to play in the semifinals. USF ends their season at 12-19.

Northwestern opened the game with a 5-2 lead and extended the lead to 18-12. USF outscored the Red Raiders 7-2 to close within one (20-19) before NWC pulled away with the next eight points, 28-19. They extended the lead to 47-30 at the half.

The Red Raiders began the second half on an 11-7 run to go up by over 20 points, 58-37, and USF never got closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Northwestern shot 62% for the game, including 74% in the first half. USF was held to just 36% for the game, 34% in the second half. Five Red Raider players scored in double figures, led by Curt Schilling who netted 19 points and in the process became the fifth NWC player to score 2,000 points in a career. The senior guard now has 2,003 points and joins teammate Chad Schuiteman in the prestigious point club. Kale Wiertzema added 18 points and Schuiteman scored 17 points and ripped down 11 rebounds. Mark DeYounge and Andrew Stimson added 13 and 10 points, respectively. USF was led by guards Jesse Huser and Matt Malloy with 15 points each. Northwestern out-rebounded USF 38-32 and both teams committed 19 turnovers.

The Red Raiders will next play third seed and 16th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm in the semifinals of the GPAC Tournament.
