TONIGHT’S MATCH-UP

The Chargers have won seven of their last ten games including wins over 11th ranked Northwestern (70-65) and 19th ranked Dakota Wesleyan (96-74) during the stretch.  Northwestern has won eight of their last ten games, including wins over top ranked Mornigside (93-90 OT) and 19th ranked Dakota Wesleyan.  This will be the final regular season game for both the Chargers and the Red Raiders.

Offensively, the Chargers are fifth in scoring (73.9), second in field goal percentage (48%), and fourth in assists (14.9/game).  They are also fifth in the GPAC with 183 three point baskets.  Defensively, Briar Cliff is second in scoring defense (66.1), first in field goal defense (40.6%), and first in three point defense (31.6%).

Individually, BCU is led by Neil Rohe, he is averaging 15.9 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game, sixth and seventh in the GPAC respectively.  Adi Cizmic is 18th in the GPAC in scoring averaging 12.7 ppg.  Rohe and Dehonis Williams are both shooting better than 54% from the field, which ranks them in the top 10 in the league.  Brett Ratcliff (3.56) and Curt Webb (3.07) lead BCU in assists per game and are sixth and tenth in the GPAC.

RED RAIDER NOTES

The Red Raiders defeated Morningside, 93-90 in overtime, Wednesday night in Sioux City, Iowa.  Curt Schilling nailed a go-ahead three pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining in OT for Northwestern.  The win pulls Northwestern within one game of Morningside in the conference standings and keeps the door open for a Red Raider conference championship.

Northwestern was led by Schilling, who scored 29 points on 11/23 shooting.  Kale Wiertzema scored 24 points and Chad Schuiteman had nine points and 12 rebounds for the eleventh ranked Red Raiders.  Northwestern held Morningside to 41.6% shooting in the contest and shot 51.5% from the floor including 60.0% on 20 shots from behind the arc.

The GPAC tournament is up next for Northwestern.  Seeding and locations will not be released until all regular season games are finished.  The first contest will be Tuesday, February 26th.
