The Northwestern College men's basketball team defeated Dominican University (Calif.), 85-74, in the second game of the Holy Names Classic in Oakland, Calif. With the win, the Red Raiders finish the month of December with a perfect 6-0 record and improve to 12-2 overall.

Curt Schilling led four NWC players in double figures with 18 points. The senior guard went 6/13 from the field, including four of seven from beyond the arc. Mark DeYounge added 16 points and six rebounds while Chad Schuiteman had 15 points and 15 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. Kale Wiertzema chipped in 10 points and dished out a team-best five assists. Northwestern shot 56% from the floor and limited Dominican to just 41% from the field. The Red Raiders also outrebounded the Penguins 45-29.

The Red Raiders resume GPAC play this weekend as they play host to eighth-ranked Hastings on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 4:00 pm.
