Tyler Westphal (Le Mars, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College beginning in the fall of 2008.

Tyler Westphal, a 6-0 guard who played three years for Le Mars Community High School, earned third team all-state honors his senior year. He averaged 18 points, 5.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game as he helped lead his team to a 12-11 record. Westphal was named both first team all-conference and all-district and was selected to play in the class 3A Goalsetter All-Star game. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is the son of Kent and Jane.

“Tyler is a quick, tough guard with a passion for the game of basketball,” commented Head Coach Kris Korver. “He is a relentless worker and his work ethic and passion will push himself and those around him to improve. We are excited to have Tyler join us here at Northwestern.”
