Josh Vander Plaats (Hinton, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.Vander Plaats

Vander Plaats is a 6’3” shooting guard who played three years for Hinton High School. He earned first team all-conference honors two straight years and third team all-state accolades as a senior. Vander Plaats averaged 23 points, 3.6 rebounds and six assists per game. He also shot better then 51% from the field and 86% from the foul line this past season. Vander Plaats helped lead his team to an 18-6 record in 2009. He is the son of Bob and Darla.

“Josh is a good shooter and is a proven scorer,” commented head coach Kris Korver. “With continued hard work, he is going to improve and be a real asset to our program. Josh had a great senior season and we look forward to seeing him build on that during the upcoming offseason. He is a quality young man and it will be great to watch him positively impact the Northwestern community.”
