John Hellinga (Longmont, Colo.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College this fall.

The son of Paula and Johannes, Hellinga is a 6’3”, 185-pound offensive/defensive lineman who lettered three years for Skyline High School. He was named offensive player-of-the-week one time this past season. Hellinga was named team captain and earned the leadership award his senior year. He plans to major in business at Northwestern.

“John has good size that we can build upon,” commented Head Coach Orv Otten. “He will play on our defensive line and should help provide us with good depth at the position. We are glad John will join our football team this fall.”
