Tim Vermeer (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall. Vermeer is a 6-0, 155-pound defensive back/wide receiver and punter who lettered three seasons for Sioux Center High School. The son of Wade and Barb, Vermeer earned all-district and all-Northwest Iowa honors after recording 514 receiving yards and 138 rushing yards his senior year. He also registered 41 tackles, three interceptions with one touchdown and averaged 39 yards per punt attempt. A member of the honor roll, Vermeer plans to major in education at Northwestern.
“We are pleased that Tim has made the decision to join the Red Raider football program,” commented Head Coach Orv Otten. “He is a quality athlete who has good speed and excellent hands. Tim is also one of the best punters in Northwest Iowa. He will play wide receiver and work as a punter for us in the fall.”
