Spykstra Claims Academic All-American Honors

T.J. Spykstra claimed CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division Football team honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America national office. 

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® College Division football team spotlights student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

Spykstra led the Red Raiders with 39 catches for 768 yards and six touchdowns in eight games played. The senior ranked 10th in the NAIA in receiving yards per game (96) and totaled four games with 100+ receiving yards. Spykstra eclipsed the school record for receiving yards in a game (239 vs Hastings) and finished his career with 70 catches for 1,094 yards. He was a second team all-conference selection and a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete.

Spykstra is the first Red Raider to earn Academic All-American honors since three players, Nathan Nieuwendorp, Tyler Klyn and Tyler Walker, all received first team honors in 2012.
