Derrious Johnson (Newbury Park, Calif.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.

Johnson is a 6’0”, 185-pound defensive back who lettered two years for the Moorpark High School football team. He earned first team all-league honors after leading his team to a 12-2 record and a runner-up finish in the CIF Championship. Johnson earned first team all-Ventura County honors and also made the East vs West Shrine All-Star game. He plans to major in computer science and is the son of Robert Sr. and Michelle.

“Derrious is a very good defensive back who plays a physical style of football,” commented head coach Kyle Achterhoff. “He is versatile and will be able to play several different positions in the secondary. We are excited that he has decided to become a Red Raider.”
