Mitchell Janssen (Orange City, Iowa), Taylor Vander Ploeg (Sioux Center, Iowa) and Maurice Davis Jr. (Mountain Pine, Ark.) have signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Northwestern College next year. Davis will also run track for the Red Raiders.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference released it all-conference teams earlier today and 12 Red Raider players earned the postseason honor, led by senior Grant Hegstad and Caleb Van Otterloo who were named to the first team.

The Northwestern College football team dropped two spots and finish the 2009 season ranked 25th in the final NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 poll released Nov. 15.

Nov 9 Raiders Fall to 23rd in Weekly NAIA Ratings
The Red Raiders fell five spots to 23rd in this week's NAIA football rating released earlier today. Northwestern suffered a 13-10 loss to Dakota Wesleyan last weekend in Mitchell, S.D. to end the season at 7-3.
Nov 8 Raiders Fall to DWU 13-10; Ends Season With 7-3 Record
DWU place-kicker Joel Kruse converted a 36-yard field goal with 9:45 left to play to give the host Tigers a 13-10 win over #18 Northwestern Saturday afternoon in Mitchell, S.D. The loss ends the Raiders season with a 7-3 record for the second straight year.

Nov 5 Raiders Conclude Regular Season At Dakota Wesleyan
18th-ranked Northwestern heads to Mitchell, S.D. to play Dakota Wesleyan in the final game of the regular season for the Red Raiders. Coach Achterhoff's squad, with a 7-2 record, has their bye week next week.
