Luke Davison (Bedford, Iowa), the son of Mark and Sandy, is a 6'4" 235-pound offensive lineman from Bedford Community H.S. He earned All-District honorable mention honors last season after recording 40 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 blocked punts. Davison plans to be a Business Management major at Northwestern.

Chad McKenzie (Inwood, Iowa), the son of Charles and Nancy, is a 5'11" 250-pound defensive tackle from West Lyon H.S. He earned second team-All-District honors last season after recording 39 tackles, 3 sacks.
Commented Otten, "Chad is a talented football player who has the potential for a super career in college football. He is a defensive lineman that provides a strong physical presence in the middle of the defensive line. Chad will be a great addition to our team."
Jayme Rozeboom (Rock Rapids, Iowa), the son of Jay and Carol, is a 6'3" 180-pound quarterback from West Lyon H.S. He was a two time first team All-District quarterback and earned first team All-State, All-NWIowa Review, and All-Sioux City Journal honors last season after recording 650 passing yards, 10 TD's, zero INT, 550 rushing yards, five rushing TD's. Rozeboom plans to be an education major at Northwestern.
Said Otten, "Jayme is an outstanding athlete who comes from one of the top high school football programs in the state of Iowa. He has tremendous speed and knows the game of football very well. Jayme has great potential as a college football quarterback."
Steven Van Wyhe (Rock Rapids, Iowa), the son of Paul and Susan, is a 6'1" 180-pound linebacker/defensive end from Central Lyon H.S. He earned second team All-State and first team All-District honors last season. Van Wyhe plans to be a Youth Ministries/Business major at Northwestern.
Commented Otten, "We are excited that Steve has made the decision to join the Red Raider football program. He is an explosive football player who is very aggressive. He will fit in very well with our defensive scheme."
Matthew Sandbulte (Sioux Center, Iowa), the son of Deb Zeutenhorst and Tom and Jen Sandbulte, Matthew is a 6'0" 185-pound running back from Sioux Center Community H.S. He earned first team All-District honors last season after recording 903 rushing yards and 1051 total yards of offense. Sandbulte plans to be a Computer Sciences major at Northwestern.
Said Otten, "Matt is a quality athlete who is a very good running back. He has very good speed and runs well between the tackles. We look forward to having Matt join our running back position group."
Derek Hurtig (Paullina, Iowa), the son of Corey and Becki, is a 6'3" 225-pound defensive lineman from South O'Brien H.S. He earned first team All-District honors last season after recording 60 tackles, eight sacks, and two fumble recoveries. Hurtig plans to be a Business Management major at Northwestern.
Otten said, "Derek has an outstanding frame and a tremendous amount of potential as a player for the Red Raiders. He played very well in high school as both an offensive and defensive lineman. Derek will add quality depth to our defensive line group."
Chad Van Ravenswaay (Sioux Center, Iowa), the son of Rod and Laura, is a 6'2" 270-pound defensive lineman from Unity Christian H.S. He earned All-District honorable mention honors last season. Van Ravenswaay plans to be a Psychology major at Northwestern.
Commented Otten, "We are pleased that Chad has made the decision to join the Red Raider football program. He has outstanding size and has good explosion for a big man. Chad will provide us with additional size in the middle of our defensive line."
Ross Fernstrum (Primghar, Iowa), the son of Lee and Shirley, is a 6'1" 215-pound defensive lineman/tight end from South O'Brien H.S. He earned first team All-District and third team INA All-State honors last season after recording 30 tackles, three sacks, and 169 receiving yards. Fernstrum plans to be a Business Administration major at Northwestern.
Said Otten, "Ross has been a varsity contributor on his high school team for four years. He has a tremendous knowledge of the game of football and plays with great desire. Ross has the athleticism to contribute at a number of positions on the team. He will begin his career here on our defensive line."
Cory Sims (Pella, Iowa), the son of Rob and Wendy, is a 5'7" 200-pound defensive lineman from Pella H.S. He earned All-District honorable mention honors last season. Sims plans to be a Physical Education major at Northwestern.
Said Otten, "Cory comes from an outstanding high school football program. He has a strong desire to play football and contribute to the Red Raider football team. Cory will play on the defensive side of the ball."
Brett Leifson (Mesa, Ariz.), the son of Stacey Wright and Everard Leifson, is a 6'2"285-pound offensive lineman from Desert Ridge H.S. Leifson plans to be a Nursing major at Northwestern.
Commented Otten, "Brett is a good competitor with a good work ethic. He is an offensive lineman with very good size and athleticism. Brett will add quality depth to our offensive line position group."
John Cain (Larchwood, Iowa), the son of Leon Cain and Dona Schallen Kamp, is a 5'10"185-pound linebacker/defensive end from West Lyon H.S. He earned first team All-District honors last season.
Said Otten, "John comes to Northwestern College as a transfer student. He played for a quality high school program and was a quality player there. John is a very strong and athletic player who will play one of our linebacker positions."
Daniel Solis (Fort Worth, Tex.), the son of Frank and Esther, is a 6’2” 295 point offensive lineman from Nolan Catholic H.S. Solis is returning to Northwestern after a one year absence. He was a part of the Northwestern offensive line that ranked in the top five in total yards in 2006.
Said Otten, “Daniel returns to the Red Raider football program after a one year absence. He is an extremely talented offensive lineman with college experience from his freshman season. Daniel will push for a starting spot on our offensive line.”
