The Red Raider football team made its 2007 season debut on the practice field this morning in the first of three scheduled workouts today. Approximately 85 athletes took the field under the guidance of Head Coach Orv Otten and the entire NWC coaching staff. The team will battle stifling conditions this afternoon as the temperatures will approach 95 degrees. The night session will be under the lights at Korver Field at De Valois Stadium.
Northwestern returns several starters from last year's playoff squad which finished with an 11-2 mark and were ranked sixth in the final NAIA poll. Coach Otten and his staff also brought in one of the largest and most talented recruiting classes in recent years to join the returning letter winners.
