The Red Raider football team, which reached the quarterfinal round of the2006 National Championship Series, was picked to finish second behind NAIA defending champion Sioux Falls in the 2007 GPAC pre-season poll. NWC finished with 88 points, while USF totaled 100 and 10 first place votes. Morningside (83) and Nebraska Wesleyan (75) placed third and fourth, respectively.
Coach Otten's squad returns 11 starters from 2006 squad which finished 11-2 and were ranked sixth in the final NAIA poll. The Red Raiders will report to the campus later this week and will begin practice on Monday, August 13.
