Jun 12 Northwestern Adds Two California and One Arizona Products
Sean Dougherty and Carey Rogers (Riverside, Calif.) along with Matthew Warren (Mesa, Ari.) have signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Northwestern beginning in the fall of 2008. Dougherty is a lineman, Rogers is a high school linebacker and will play safety, while Warren is a lineman.


May 27 Henaman to Play Football at Northwestern College
Zebadiah Henaman (Lyle, Minn.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College this fall.


May 21 Northwestern College Football Program Signs Two
Darren Bogaards (Pella, Iowa) and Tom Van Boven (Lynden, Wash.) have signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Northwestern College next fall. 


Apr 30 Northwestern Football Team Adds California Standouts
Cary Overholt (Highland, Calif.) and Ben Aguilera (Highland, Calif.) have signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Northwestern College. Overholt will also play baseball for the Red Raiders.

Nikolaus McCarty (West Fork, Ark.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

Weston McGill (Tyndall, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.

John Oldenkamp (Ashton, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next fall.


Mar 31 Red Raiders Add Two High School Recruits
Jeremy Sheppard (Golden Valley, Minn.) and Nate Fischer (Le Mars, Iowa) have signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at Northwestern College. Sheppard will also run track for the Red Raiders.

Feb 11 Raider Football Inks Twelve Recruits on National Signing Day
Northwestern's football recently signed twelve recruits on national signing day. Seven of the twelve are defensive players and five of the twelve will be on the offensive side of the ball.


Jan 22 Van Sloten, Jansen Earn VSN All-American Honors
Cody Van Sloten (Doon, Iowa) and Nate Jansen (Orange City, Iowa) earned All-American honors for this past football season as announced by the Victory Sports Network on Monday, Jan. 21. This marks the sixth season for the VSN All-American awards.

Caleb Blauwet, a freshman linebacker from Larchwood, Iowa, earned GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors this week.


Nov 12 Raiders Defeat Tigers 38-13 in Final Game of Season
The Red Raider football team defeated Doane Saturday afternoon 38-13, in their final game of the 2007 season. Northwestern, ranked 15th in the last poll, improved to 8-2, while Doane dropped to 4-6. Northwestern did not qualify for the NAIA Championship Series despite being ranked in the top 16.


Nov 9 Red Raiders to Face Doane In the Final Game of the Regular Season
Northwestern hosts Doane in the final regular season game for both teams. The Red Raiders are ranked 15th in the last NAIA poll and come in with a 7-2 overall record. Doane is 4-5 this season and has won two of their past three games.


Nov 5 Miscues Haunt Red Raiders in 33-7 Loss to Morningside
The Red Raiders suffered their second defeat of the season as they were upended by #15 Morningside, 33-7. NWC, ranked eighth in the last poll, drops to 7-2 overall with one game left in the regular season.

Nov 1 Northwestern/Morningside Clash in GPAC Football Match-Up
The eighth-ranked Red Raiders travel to Sioux City to play #15 Morningside in a GPAC showdown of ranked teams this Saturday, Nov. 3. Kickoff at Elwood-Olson Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 pm. Northwestern comes in with a 7-1 mark while the Mustangs are 7-2.


Oct 21 Northwestern Earns Shutout Win, 35-0, Over Midland Lutheran
Northwestern won their fifth straight game with an impressive 35-0 shutout victory over Midland Lutheran. The Red Raiders, ranked ninth in the NAIA, improve to 7-1 overall as they head into their bye week.


Oct 18 Red Raiders Host Midland Lutheran on GPAC Football Saturday
The ninth-ranked Red Raiders will go for their fifth straight win as they host Midland Lutheran this afternoon on Korver Field at De Valois Stadium. Northwestern is 6-1 in the GPAC while the Warriors enter the contest with a 2-4 mark.


Oct 16 Red Raiders Earn Football Honors
Grant Mosier (Clarinda, Iowa) earned NAIA National Player-of-the-Week honors as he helped lead his team to a 35-13 victory over Dana last weekend. Both Mosier and Craig Hector (Le Mars, Iowa) earned GPAC Player-of-the-Week honors.


Oct 15 Red Raiders Win Big Over Dana in GPAC Football Action
Craig Hector threw five touchdown passes as the ninth-ranked Red Raiders jumped out to a 35-0 lead en route to their 35-7 win over Dana in Blair, Neb. Northwestern improves to 6-1 and will host Midland Lutheran on Oct. 20.


Oct 12 Ninth-ranked NWC Takes on Dana in GPAC Football
The ninth-ranked Red Raiders travel to Blair, Neb. to play Dana on Saturday, Oct. 13. Kickoff slated for 2:00 pm. Northwestern is 5-1 in the GPAC and in second place while Dana is tied for fifth place with a 2-3 mark.


Oct 11 Stahl a Semifinalist for Draddy Trophy
Senior Linebacker Scott Stahl has been named a semifinalist for the Draddy Trophy. The Draddy Trophy is known around the nation as the "Academic Heisman." Stahl joins five other NAIA players and 152 total college football players as semifinalists for the award.

Northwestern and Dordt have agreed to play another junior varsity contest.


Oct 8 Red Raiders Down Briar Cliff, 28-14; Establish New GPAC Interception Record
The ninth-ranked Red Raiders defeated Briar Cliff, 28-14, and also established a new GPAC record with seven interceptions in a single game. With the win, NWC improves to 5-1 overall while the Chargers drop to 0-6, 0-5 in the GPAC.


Oct 4 Ninth-ranked NWC To Take on Briar Cliff in Homecoming Game
The ninth-ranked Red Raiders play host to the Briar Cliff Chargers in this week's homecoming match-up. Northwestern (4-1) defeated 19th-ranked Hastings last week, 31-7, while BCU lost a heartbreaker to Midland Lutheran, 32-31, and is 0-5 this season. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 pm.


Oct 1 Red Raiders Defeat Hastings, 31-7
The Red Raider football team defeated Hastings this afternoon, 31-7, in a showdown between top 25 teams. Northwestern, ranked 10th in the last poll, improves to 4-1 while the 19th-ranked Broncos drop to 4-1.


Sep 27 Red Raider Football Heads to Hastings
10th-ranked Northwestern heads to Hastings, Neb. this Saturday to play the undefeated Broncos, ranked tied for 19th in this week's poll. The Red Raiders are 3-1 overall and in the conference while Hastings is 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the GPAC. Kickoff slated for 2:00 pm.


Sep 22 Red Raider Football Team Gets Last Second Win Over Concordia
There was the immaculate reception in 1972...the Music City Miracle in 2000...even the improbable victory that Boise State recorded over Oklahoma last year in the Fiesta Bowl. However, this afternoon in Orange City, Northwestern recorded its version of one of the most memorable plays in their dramatic 29-24 win over Concordia (Neb.).


Sep 20 #11 Northwestern Takes on Concordia in Battle of 2-1 Teams
Today’s matchup features a pair of 2-1 teams as the 11th-ranked Red Raiders host the Concordia Bulldogs.This will be the 30th meeting between the two schools, with Northwestern holding a 17-12 series advantage which includes the last five games.


Sep 17 Red Raiders Fall to USF
In a battle of top five teams, fifth-ranked Northwestern was upended by the defending champion and top-ranked USF Cougars by the final score of 44-20. NWC suffered their first loss of the season and fell to 2-1 overall.
