The seventh-ranked Raiders stormed out to a 21-0 first quarter lead en route to a 42-13 victory over Hastings. The win improves NW to 6-1 in the league, 7-1 overall with three games left in the regular season. Junior quarterback Craig Hector scored four touchdowns and amassed 242 yards of total offense to lead the offensive charge. He completed 17 of 22 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns. Hector connected with Brock Jensen for a two-yard scoring strike on the Raiders opening offensive series. He also hit Blake Reinke and Tyler Reichle for scoring strikes later in the contest. Reichle and Reinke each caught five passes for 48 and 47 yards, respectively. Hector led all ball-carriers with 77 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. Tim Naiman and T.J. Lensch also reached the end-zone and were part of a ground attack that tallied 116 yards.

The Raider D held the second-best rushing attack in check as they gave up just 16 yards on 26 carries (.6 yards per carry). Hastings garnered just five first downs for the game and committed five turnovers. Austin Janssen led the Raiders with 9.5 tackles and one interception. Jordan Van Otterloo added two tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions and is now the GPAC record holder for most career interceptions with 20, surpassing the old record of 18 set by Sean Stewart of Concordia (2000-2003).

Coach Otten will take his squad to Sioux City for a road game against Briar Cliff  on Oct. 28. Kickoff at Memorial Field will be at 1:00 p.m.
