Dawn Gildersleeve (Bondurant, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field and cross country careers at Northwestern College next year.Gildersleeve.jpg)
Gildersleeve is a 5’2” distance runner who earned four letters for the North Polk High cross country team. She qualified for the state meet three times and boasts a personal best 4K time of 15:35.
Currently a three-year letter winner in track and field, Gildersleeve earned the team’s leadership and most dedicated award. A three-time state qualifier, she was a key member of the 2008 class 2A state championship squad and boasts personal bests of 4:56 in the 1500m and 2:20 in the 800m. A member of the National Honor Society, Gildersleeve plans to major in exercise science and business administration at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Dean and Becky.
“We are very excited that Dawn has decided to attend Northwestern College next fall,” commented head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “She is a talented athlete who will make an immediate impact on both of our teams next year. Dawn is a great young lady and will be a great addition to our campus community as well.”
