Drenkow to Run Cross Country/Track at Northwestern

Tyler Drenkow (Sheldon, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field and cross country careers at Northwestern College next year.Drenkow

Drenkow is a 6’0” distance runner who ran four years in both cross country and track and field for Sheldon High School. Drenkow qualified for the state cross country meet his final three years at Sheldon and placed in the top 15 as a junior and senior. He finished eighth in 2008. Drenkow also qualified for state in the 3200m run. He boasts personal bests of 16:30 in the 5K, 4:54 in the mile and 10:25 in the two mile run. A member of the honor roll, Drenkow plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern. He is the son of Steve and Sheila.

“I’m very excited that Tyler has decided to run at Northwestern,” commented head coach Nate Wolf. “He has experienced success at the state level and has the drive and character to develop into a great college distance runner. Tyler is a welcome addition to our distance crew and I look forward to his impact next fall.”
