Corrine Muyskens (Mason City, Iowa) and Leslie Stover (Adrian, Minn.) have signed letters of intent to continue their track and field careers at Northwestern College next year.
Muyskens is a 5’5” distance runner who will run both track and cross country at Northwestern. A four-year letter winner, she qualified for the state meet her senior year and earned all-conference honors as a sophomore and junior. Her personal best in the 4K is 15:25. Muyskens was named academic all-conference four straight years and plans to major in graphic design and art education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Dennis and Susan.
“It is great Corrine has decided to continue running at Northwestern,” comments head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “She is a very talented distance runner and will provide an immediate impact to our distance crew. Corrine has the ability to help our women’s team compete well at the conference and national level. She will be a great addition to our teams next year.”
Stover earned 11 letters in cross country and track and field while competing for Adrian High School. The 5’5” middle distance and distance runner earned all-conference honors five years and placed in the sectional’s top 10 for five straight seasons. Stover was a key member of the four-time state champion cross country squad as she placed in the top 25 all four years, including a seventh place finish in 2008. She earned all-state honors as a junior and senior. Stover boasts personal bests of 15:09 in the 4K, 5:21 in the 1600m and 2:23 in the 800m. A member of the National Honor Society, Stover plans to major in art and business at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Leonard and Laura.
“I am very excited that Leslie has decided to continue her running at Northwestern,” comments Wolf. “She is an outstanding young lady who has experienced unprecedented team success at the Minnesota high school level. Leslie has competed at a very high level and I look forward to her making an immediate impact on our team and campus community.”
