Scholten to Run Cross Country/Track at NWC

Teresa Scholten (Larchwood, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country and track careers at Northwestern College next year.

Scholten is a 5’7” middle distance/distance runner who earned four letters in both track and cross country for West Lyon High School. She qualified for state all four years in cross country and is a four-time all-Siouxland Conference runner. In track, Scholten earned all-Siouxland Conference honors as both a junior and senior and qualified for state as a freshman and junior. Her personal bests include: 2:21.67 in the 800m, 5:26 in the 1500m and 60.2 as the anchor in the sprint medley (400m). A member of the honor roll and National Honor Society, Scholten plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Casey and Vonda.

“I’m very excited Teresa has decided to join our track and cross country programs,” commented Head Coach Nate Wolf. “She is an outstanding athlete and a very talented runner. Teresa will push for a top five spot in cross country and will compete well at the conference and national level in the middle distances for track.”
