For the first time in the program's history, Northwestern's women's cross country team is ranked in the top 25 by the NAIA. The Red Raiders are tied for 24th with Westmont (Calif.) and join Concordia (Neb.) as the two GPAC schools in this week's ranking.
The Red Raiders have won two of the three meets in which they have competed, including the Briar Cliff Invitational this past weekend at McCook Lake, S.D. They totalled 40 points, 10 points in front of second place Wayne State (Neb.). NWC also won the Dordt College Invite back on Aug. 31. Individually, freshmen Olivia Johnson and Charity Miles finished first and second, respectively, in both the BC and Dordt Invitationals. Johnson has twice been named GPAC Runner-of-the-Week.
Northwestern will next compete in the Mount Marty Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10:00 a.m. in Yankton, S.D.
