NWC Men's Team Finishes Sixth at BC Invite

The men's cross country team placed sixth out of 11 teams overall at the Briar Cliff Invitational held in McCook Lake, S.D. The Red Raiders finished with a team score of 120, 22 points behind fellow GPAC school, Dana, with 98. Morningside placed third and was the top GPAC school with 91 points. Wayne State won the meet with a team score of 63.

Danny Owens, a freshman from Clarinda, Iowa, led the Red Raiders with a 13th place finish and a time of 27:58 in the 8K race. Kyle Gerhard crossed the line in 20th place with a time of 28:37 and Jon Woehl finished in 24th place with a time of 28:59. Tyler Peekenschneider (35) and Andy Norris (42) round out the NWC scoring.

The men's team will next compete at the Mount Marty Invitational in Yankton, S.D., on Saturday, Oct. 13.
