Meet Time...The Red Raiders travel to Brookings, S.D., to compete in the SDSU Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15. The race will run on the Edgebrook Golf Course with the women's race to begin at 9:45 am.
Red Raider Notes... In their only meet of the season, the Red Raider women's team won the Dordt Invite with a team score of 27. Five runners placed in the top 10, eight in the top 15, led by freshmen Olivia Johnson and Charity Miles. Johnson won the overall title with a time of 15:09 which earned her GPAC Runner-of-the-Week honors. Miles finished a close second with a time of 15:21. Sara Hess (16:25), Stephanie Powell (16:26) and Akacia Wentworth (16:27) placed 7th-9th. Steph Korfe, Lori Wolf and Ingrid Carlson were also in the top 15 of the 2.5 mile course.
The Red Raider men placed second overall with 61 points. Senior captain Jon Woehl finished sixth overall with a time of 22:28 to lead NWC. Three other Red Raiders placed in the top 15: Tyler Peekenschneider (9th), Kyle Gerhard (12th) and Danny Owens (15th).
Next up... Northwestern will next compete at the Briar Cliff Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6, at McCook Lake, S.D.
