Raiders Host Defenders

Northwestern hosts Dordt College today at 1:00pm in the final regular season games for each team. The Red Raiders (25-16, 15-3) enter as the GPAC's top team while Dordt (7-22, 5-13) enters in 11th place. In between today's games will be a short ceremony honoring the seniors from this year's team.

Willie Willats – Willats is the son of Bob and Vicki. Willats is an accounting/Argi-business major from Orchard, Nebraska. Willie has been a member of the baseball team for four seasons, two as a player and two as our manager/live stats technician. During his career, Willie struck out in his only varsity at bat. Away from the game field, Willie has been a tireless worker helping us with batting practice and assisting in every areathe program needs assistance. The work he does on game days gives many of you the ability to follow along without being at the diamond, and for that we are extremely thankful.

#4 Chase Rozeboom – Rozeboom is the son of Arlyn and Beth. He is an exercise science major/pre-physical therapy concentration from Sioux Center, Iowa. During his career, Rozeboom has made 50 pitching appearances and has compiled a 3-2 record with two saves and a 4.53 ERA in 57.2 innings. In 2012, Rozeboom was named an All-GPAC Honorable Mention relief pitcher.

#15 Taylor Morris – Morris is the son of Toby and Darcey and is married to Rylee. Morris is a physical education major and health minor from Ringsted, Iowa. During his career, Morris has been both a starting pitcher and starting position player. He has registered 115 hits, scored 58 runs and has 68 RBI to go with a 0.283 batting average. On the mound, Morris has made 38 starts and has a 16-15 record with a 3.83 ERA. He has thrown 197.1 innings and is ninth all time at Northwestern in innings pitched. He has recorded 188 strikeouts and is currently sixth all time. Morris was named an All-GPAC Second Team pitcher in 2011 and was a Honorable Mention pitcher in 2012.

#17 Corey Van Gorp – Van Gorp is the son of Ray and Lori. He is a Argi-Business major from Orange City, Iowa. During his career, Van Gorp had collected 333 at bats and currently has a 0.288 batting average. He has scored 71 runs and has driven in 42. Van Gorp has also stolen 36 career bases is tied for 14th all-time in stolen bases.

#18 Noah Bohlmann – Bohlmann is the son of Jerry and Linda and is married to Amanda. Bohlmann is a business finance/sports management major from Brandon, South Dakota. During his career Bohlmann has seen time on the mound and in the field. On the mound, Bohlmann made nine starts and has a career ERA of 6.81 and a 2-4 record. As a position player, Bohlmann has made 437 at bats and has a career average of 0.272. He has 34 doubles, which ties him for tenth all-time at NWC. Bohlmann was named a 2011 All-GPAC Honorable Mention.

As a class, these four seniors have been a part of three GPAC Championship teams; regular season championships in 2011 and 2013 and a post season championship in 2010. They are currently 118-78 in their careers and are chasing down the 2010 senior class which had 122 wins over their four years. They have also gone 11-6 in postseason play and will be looking to improve that record in the 2013 GPAC Tournament in Hastings and the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round at a site to be announced on May 5th.
