Red Raiders Take on Mayville St. in Metrodome

Northwestern's baseball team returns to action on Friday morning and Saturday morning in the Metrodome. The Red Raiders are currently 9-5 this season and are coming off of a 8-2 spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona. NWC will face Mayville St. in a four game series, two games starting at 6:45AM on Friday morning, and two games starting at 7:00AM on Saturday morning. Mayville St. is currently 7-2-1 on the season.

Scouting Mayville St.

The Comets will be making their sixth trip to the Metrodome for this weekends trip and currently carry a 7-2-1 record in the dome. Mayville is hitting 0.271 as a team and has scored 50 runs in ten games. Kurt McCallum leads the team with 13 hits, 13 RBI, and a 0.591 average. Zach Mihic (0.385), John Pistulka (0.304), and Dillon Lundin (0.300) are also at or above 0.300 on the season. Bryan Jacklitch leads Mayville with nine stolen bases, the Comets are 25/30 as a team.

On the mound, Tyler Stuerman leads NWC with a 0.53 ERA in 17 innings, he is tied with Taylor Morris and Ryan Brasser with a team best 15 strikeouts. Brasser is 3-0 in three starts and has a 1.00 ERA while Morris is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA. Relievers Chase Rozeboom (0.00), Josh Turner (2.16), and Jason Willet (3.60) are other key pitchers for Northwestern. Morris earned GPAC Pitcher of the Week honors for his play in Tucson last week. Morris went 2-0 without giving up an earned run in two starts.
