The Northwestern Red Raider baseball team, coming off of a 37-18 season, Region III Championship, and Plains Super Regional Appearance, received nine votes to be ranked in the NAIA Pre-Season poll, which came out November 14th. Northwestern was joined by Region III runner-up Dickinson State, ranked 20th, and Dakota State, who received one vote.
Northwestern returns eight of its top nine hitters including GPAC Player of the Year Grant Wall and All-GPAC 2nd team selections, Jake Jansen and Joe Heitritter. The pitching staff will be led by NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, GPAC Pitcher of the Year, and Region III Pitcher of the Year Mihai Burlea and All-GPAC Honorable Mention Closer Justin Lane.
Northwestern will take the field for the first time Feb. 22nd in Kansas versus Tabor College before heading to Clearwater, Fla. for the Clearwater College Invitational, played at Jack Russell Stadium.
